The Regulations for Selection of Fellow Members of the Robotics Society of Japan

(Purpose)
Article 1  These Regulations provide for matters concerning the selection of fellow members of the Robotics Society of Japan (hereinafter referred to as "this Society").


(Eligible Members)
Article 2  This Society grants a title of fellow to a regular member who has remarkably contributed to the development of an academic or technical field which this Society has in charge or to the management / development of this Society.


(Recommendation of Candidates)
Article 3  A person who attempts to recommend a candidate for a fellow member shall be a regular member of this Society.
Article 4   A person who attempts to recommend a candidate for a fellow member shall prepare a letter of recommendation to be separately set forth and submit it to the Fellow Selection Committee by the end of every November together with approvals of two (2) regular members.

 

(Selection Committee)
Article 5   In selecting fellow members, a selection committee that is chaired by the President of this Society and consists of no less than five members of this Society shall be established in order to deliberate on the candidates recommended for fellow members.

 

(Quorum)
Article 6   The Fellow Selection Committee shall carefully deliberate based on the matters described in the letters of recommendation and shall select final candidates in the number of no more than 15 persons every year. However, if no candidates are recommended or appropriate as a fellow member, the Committee may not select any fellow member.

 

(Decision)
Article 7   The Fellow Selection Committee shall propose final candidates in the Board of Directors to be held at the end of each fiscal year and fellow members shall be ultimately selected upon final decision of the Board of Directors.


(Honoring)
Article 8   Fellow members thus selected shall be honored in an academic lecture or the general meeting of this Society and their honoring shall be communicated to all the members of this Society.


(Amendment / Abolition)
Article 9   Amendment / abolition of these Regulations, if necessary, shall be proposed by the Director in charge of general affairs and processed with approval of the Board of Directors.
