The Operational Standards for the Study Group of the Robotics Society of Japan
Enacted on May 10, 2006 by the Board of Directors
These Standards shall stipulate the
operational standards for the Type I Study Group and Type II Study Group in
relation to Article 8 of the Regulations for the Research Committee of this
Society.
I. Type I Study Group
(Purpose)
The purpose of the Type I Study Group (hereinafter referred to as the
gStudy Grouph) shall be to perform the presentations and discussions concerning
the study results of Robotics in the main fields or areas of this Society and
to facilitate the development and dissemination of the academia and technology
of such fields.
(Operation)
The operation of the Study Group shall be performed by the Research Committee
in charge of such operation (hereinafter referred to as the gCommitteeh).
(Name and Holding of Study Group)
In principle, the Committee shall periodically hold an open Study Group twice or
more a year. The name of the Study Group shall be determined by the Committee
such as the g›› Study Group of the Robotics Society of Japanh and the purpose
of holding, date of holding, place, title of presentation, presenters, etc.,
shall be indicated in the announcement section of the journal of this Society,
upon the approval of the Board of Directors.
In addition, when the Study Group is held, the presentation shall be
facilitated by the Co-sponsorship or the Cooperation of another society, etc.
In this case, the committee chairman shall obtain the approval of the Board of
Directors upon the previous discussion on the conditions for the
Co-sponsorship, etc. The request for the Co-sponsorship, etc., shall be in the
name of the President.
(Presentation and Participation in the
Study Group)
The committee members may voluntarily make presentations in any Study
Group. The applicant for the presentation shall make application to the manager
in the method designated by the Committee. Additionally, the committee members
and the members of the organization under the Cooperation may voluntarily
participate. The preparation of programs for the Study Group and the receipt of
the applications for participation, etc., shall be performed by the Committee.
The application for presentation shall be in principle without charge and only
the actual expenses such as costs for the site and materials shall be collected
as the participation fee. If the collection of a fee is especially required,
the approval of the Board of Directors shall be obtained.
(Materials for Study Group and Copyright)
In the Study Group, the materials for the research presentation shall be
prepared by the day before the day of the Study Group. The name of such
presentation shall be gResearch report on Robotics, No. ž (___, 2006) of the ››
Study Grouph and the materials of such presentation may be published and
distributed at the price determined by the Committee. The copyrights shall
belong to the Society.
(Operational Work and Accounting of Study
Group)
The operational work, preparation of the manuscript of the announcement of the
Study Group, preparation and publishing of the materials, etc., shall be
performed by the Committee. In particular, the budget and settlement of the
Study Group shall be handled by the Committee at its responsibility and shall
obtain the approval of the Board of Directors every year.
II. Type II Study Group
(Purpose)
The Type II Study Group (hereinafter referred to as the gStudy Grouph) is a
free style research meeting, specializing in the fields related to this Society
(including discussions, lectures, workshops, seminars and symposiums handling
new areas) and the purpose of such Study Groups is to facilitate the
development and dissemination of the academia and technology of the field.
(Operation)
The operation of Study Group shall be performed by the Research Committee in
charge of such operation (hereinafter referred to as the gCommitteeh).
(Name and Holding of Study Groups)
The Committee may sponsor the Study Group at any time. The proper name of such
Study Group shall be determined by the Committee in each case and the purpose
of the Study Group, date of holding, place, content, presenter, etc., shall be
announced in the announcement section of the journal of this Society upon the
approval of Board of Directors.
In addition, if the Co-sponsorship and the Cooperation with another society,
etc., are to be obtained for the holding of the Study Group, the committee
chairman shall obtain the approval of the Board of Directors after the mutual
consultation on the conditions of the Co-sponsorship, etc. The request for the
Co-sponsorship, etc., shall be in the name of the President.
(Presentation and Participation in Study
Groups)
The members of this Society and the members of the Co-sponsorship or the Cooperation
organization may voluntarily make presentations and participate in the Study
Group. @Only

as the participation fee and if the collection of another fee is especially
required, the approval of the Board of Directors shall be obtained.
(Materials for Study Groups and
Copyright)
In the Study Groups, the materials for the research presentations shall be
prepared if necessary and may be distributed at the price determined by the
Committee. In this case, the copyrights of the publications of the Study Group
shall belong to the author.
(Operational Work and Accounting of Study
Group)
The operational work, preparation of the manuscript for the announcement of the
Society, preparation and publishing of the materials, etc., shall be performed
by the Committee. In particular, in the Type II Study Group, the budget and
settlement of the Study Group shall be handled by the Committee in charge at
its responsibility and shall obtain the approval of the Board of Directors on a
case-by-case basis.
Supplementary Provisions
1. These Standards shall be implemented from May 10, 2006.
