The Regulations for the Selection of the Young Investigator Excellence Award of the Robotics Society of Japan

(Purpose)
Article 1   These Regulations shall stipulate the procedure for selection of the Young Investigator Excellence Award based on the Regulations for the Awards Committee of this Society (enacted on February 15, 2007 by the Board of Directors).
Article 2   The President shall request that all the facilitators of the sessions in the subject lecture meetings having lecturers that participated in the Young Investigator Excellence Award be the Presenters of the Young Investigator Excellence Award (hereinafter referred to as the gPresenterh) and that each facilitator recommend one (1) Presenter from the all participants in the sessions.
2.If the facilitator is the coauthor in collaboration with the lecturer that participated in the Young Investigator Excellence Award, the President shall request that the facilitator appoint one (1) Presenter instead of such facilitator of the presentation.

(Method of Recommendation)
Article 3   The President shall request that the Presenters elected in accordance with Article 2 make recommendations by writing the name of the nominee for the Young Investigator Excellence Award elected from among the lectures that participated in the sessions.

(Standards of Recommendation)
Article 4   The Presenters shall make recommendations for the Young Investigator Excellence Award in respect to the lectures and presentations performed by the participating lecturer, by filling out the recommendation form of the Young Investigator Excellence Award. The creativity of the research shall be the main appraisal standard for academic papers and the usability of the technology shall be the main appraisal standard for technical papers. Additionally, the appraisal shall be performed comprehensively considering factors such as the degree of contribution, attitude and ingenuity of the presentation and the authorfs potential as a researcher.

(Standard of Review)
Article 5   When performing the review of the Young Investigator Excellence Award, the creativity and the usability of the research of the primary nominees shall be considered and evaluated.

(Selection of Nominees for the Award)
Article 6   The selection subcommittee chairman shall convene the selection subcommittee and confirm the selection method for the nominees of the award. When performing the selection, the evaluation shall be performed based on the presentation paper of the nominee for the award, participation form of the Young Investigator Excellence Award and recommendation form of the Young Investigator Excellence Award of the Presenter.
2. The chairman of the selection subcommittee shall select the nominees for the award in accordance with the selection method set forth in the preceding Paragraph.

(Report of Results)
Article 7   The chairman of the selection subcommittee shall report the results of the selection together with the selection process to the President.

Supplementary Provisions
1. These Regulations shall be applied from fiscal 1985.
2. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from May 31, 1986.
3. These Regulation shall be revised and implemented from January 21, 1991.
4. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from October 18, 1991.
5. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from April 21, 1994.
6. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from October 20, 1995.
7. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from December 2, 1996.
8. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from September 14, 1997.
9. These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from February 19, 2002.
10.These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from July 12, 2006.
11.These Regulations shall be revised and implemented from February 15, 2007.
