IEEE RO-MAN 2018 Nanjing/ Tai’An

　日本ロボット学会が共同主催するIEEE RO-MAN2018 が南京市および泰安市で開催されます。日本（成田空港/関西空港）と南京（南京空港）との間は飛行時間約3時間の直行便で結ばれております。

南京市および泰安市は、この会議を積極的に支援して下さっております。風光明媚な泰安市におけるワークショップの参加者は、宿泊や食事がほぼすべて泰安市から提供されるとのことです。南京市は優秀な若手研究者10名に南京市賞（$1,500）を授与することを予定しております。是非、奮って論文を投稿して下さいますようお願いします。（3月19日締切）

　また、会議参加者が打ち解けて研究討論などをするインフォーマルな機会を数多く用意おります。研究者間あるいは地元企業との間の共同プロジェクトの端緒になることを期待しております。奮ってご参加下さいますようお願いします。

　The 27th IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication, RO-MAN 2018, will take place in Nanjing and Tai’an, China, from 27 to 31 of August 2018. This leading forum covers state-of-the-art innovative results, the latest developments cover a wide range of topics related to Robot and Human Interactive Communication.

　The theme of the conference is social intelligence in interactive robots. Original contributions including basic findings, multi-disciplinary approaches towards friendly, open and useful robots in practical/real life applications such as healthcare, industry edutainment, etc., are highly encouraged.

　For this edition, at least 10 contributions among young and promising researchers will receive a grant of US$1500 (The Nanjing City Prizes) to cover travels and living costs. Moreover, the participants to the workshops will be hosted (including lodging and food) in the Sheraton Tai’An for free.

　Moreover, the organizers of the conference want this conference to be social: the best place for researchers to have frank, deep and informal discussions. Social events are thus planed: in addition to the classical gala dinner, the welcome party, a free tour of Nanjing City and its famous hotpots is programmed for Aug26th (before the opening of the conference). Experiencing the high-speed train (more than 300kh/h) between Nanjing and Tai’An. And last, the visit of one of the five sacred mountains in China: the Tai’Shan (Aug31th).
