The Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), to provide opportunities to learn more about industrial and service robots to high school students who may not normally come into contact with them, held the Robot High School (Industrial Robots Workshop for High School Students) at the Tokyo Big Site, the site of the International Robot Exhibition, in 2009 and in 2011. Moreover, the RSJ, to provide opportunities to join international students, held the International Robotics Forum for High School Students 2013 (IRH 2013) in 2013, and IRH 2015 in 2015. You can refer the detail of the IRH 2013 at the Report of IRH 2013 and the IRH 2015 at the Report of IRH 2015 . This year, the RSJ is going to hold the International Robotics Forum for High School Students 2017 (IRH 2017) that will collaborate with the International Robot Exhibition 2017 (iREX 2017) .

The event will take place over two days. We will prepare a challenge for all the participants. We will send you themes of robot study. Your students will study about them in advance, and on Day One, and visit the iREX 2017 to investigate real robots. In the morning of Day Two, your students will present their study and investigation result. Exhibition scale of the iREX 2107 will be greater than that of the iREX 2015, so you and your students will be able to fun and excitement of advanced robot technologies.
In the afternoon of Day Two, as the final event, awards will be given by the RSJ to groups that have given outstanding presentations.

Your student’s presentation on Day Two will be simultaneously interpreted into English and Japanese alternatively. The conference will offer an ideal opportunity for senior high school students from the around the world to communicate with each other through robots. Therefore, we look forward to your active participation.

We hope that many future robot researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs will be born today.
